Last a friend of ours celebrated her 40th birthday. On the menu was a 1/2 roasted pig from Eva’s lechon on Los Angeles. This was one tasty pig. Juicy, lots of flavor and tender. The Mexican in me would have loved to have had tortilla and salsa! I should have asked what the cost was because I would highly recommend this to anyone that can appreciate pork done to perfection.

My favorites were the Corn Soup and Corn Angnolotti......

Most of the time when dining out in a new place, I’m looking for something that I wouldn’t normally make at home or discover some aspect of a dish that inspires. Rustic Canyon may have provided both.

RC comes at the recommendation of Jimmy Williams of HayGround Organic Gardening. Five of us ventured out to get what I call a reality check of what can be done with late spring and early summer produce. RC didn’t disappoint. My favorites were the Corn Soup and Corn Angnolotti. Another that was good as well was the Jidori Chicken. Service was great as was the wine service. Corkage was a bit high at $25 but all in all it was good time.
